Meet the team Q&A: Wendy Loraine

By Wendy Loraine

Name: Wendy

Time in business: 5 months

Position: Associate content writer

1.)  Tell us your Clearly PR story

I was referred to a post advertising a vacancy for a writer at Clearly by a friend on LinkedIn. Having explored the website and exchanged a few emails with Paul, I felt this opportunity suited me perfectly and was eager to work with a company whose values aligned with my own.

2.) How did I feel when I heard I’d got the job?

Oh, you know, pretty chill. I didn’t rush to call anyone in celebration or drop my Greggs pasty on the floor in excitement. No, that totally didn’t happen at all…

3.) Tell us a bit about yourself

Outside of work I love: travelling, dancing like no one’s watching, writing fiction and of course, Christmas. IT’S NEVER TOO EARLY, OKAY?! I’m also the mother to one fluffy rabbit, a yoga enthusiast and a serial cereal addict. Crunchy nut is probably the best, but let’s be fair to Shreddies – those grannies do a brilliant job with their knitting needles.

4.) Can you pin point your favourite moment from your interview?

It’s all a bit of a blur, but Paul was really friendly and easy to talk to – I felt we instantly got along so it made the whole situation more comfortable.

5.) What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A comic book writer & artist.

6.) Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I have a hidden talent for long jump. If I ever forget how to write or become awful at my job, someone put me in touch with team GB. It’s a back up plan.

7.) What is your favourite part of your job?

Writing! It’s my passion; being able to do what I love all day is the best.

8.) What has been your defining moment so far at Clearly PR?

Getting to know the team on the staff dinner/drinks. They’re a lovely bunch. Bit mad, though 😉

9.) Grass on a colleague and tell us a funny story about them

Amy once came to work with her skirt on inside out. Funnily enough I found myself on a train about a week later with my shirt on inside out – must have been karma!

10.) Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Hopefully still doing what I love for a living! I’d like to say in a penthouse apartment with a window wall overlooking Manhattan, but… we’ll see.

11.) Describe Clearly PR in three words

Passionate, fun, energising.
