In 2023, Clearly PR was approached by a newly launched charity to help them to raise greater awareness and understanding of suicide in this country.

There are over 2,000 mental health charities already in the UK – many of which have been operating for several years and have become familiar names. They do fantastic work and generate media coverage for their causes on a sustained basis.

The challenge for the Clearly PR team was how to take an ‘unknown’ charity that had been in operation for less than a year leapfrog its more established and well-known peers to grab a share of the media spotlight and communicate its message?

We love a good challenge, but this one was different because the cause was so important and potentially life changing. So, we knew that the campaign required something very special if it was to achieve its desired outcome.

In this video, the account team for The Baton of Hope break down each element of the campaign that went on to far exceed the expectations of everyone involved.

It saw 100s of volunteers getting involved, F1 drivers, famous musicians and footballers, 370+ media outlets clambering over one another to cover it, and even the Prime Minister recording a dedicated video highlighting the importance of the campaign.
