The role of Account Director is a senior one within the business. It comes with its own challenges and expectations that surpass those of an AM/SAM, and require you to push back as much as you push forward.

The details of the role

Clearly PR works with a plethora of B2B and B2C clients throughout the UK and across multiple sectors, including Recruitment/HR, Manufacturing, Charity, Accountancy and Finance, Technology, Law, Property, and Hospitality.

In 2021 and again in 2022, Clearly was recognised by the PRCA as the South West Medium Sized PR Consultancy of the Year. And we won both the South West and UK Team Culture of the Year 2022, too.

We aspire to more than double our headcount to 25 people in the next 12 months. This, with our policy of preferring to promote from within, will create even more opportunities for you to continue progressing in your PR career.

Your clients:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts and ensuring the team achieves monthly SLAs, client objectives, and that we meet/exceed their expectations.
  • Develop great client relations and become a trusted, dependable and capable account lead.
  • Understand the clients’ business and develop strategies and proposals to help them meet their business objectives.
  • Oversee monthly reporting and benchmark activity and results with the expectations of the client.
  • Monitor, measure and assess the performance of the work undertaken for clients.
  • Plan and steer multichannel content and PR campaigns, including online and offline strategies to maximise impact and audience reach such as print, online and social media.

Your people:

  • Lead and manage your team and take ownership of their continued professional development and performance.
  • Identifying training needs, areas for further development, and cores strengths that can be honed further.
  • Ensure your people stay abreast of latest industry trends and that you provide ongoing ‘learning’ sessions.

Your role in supporting the growth of the agency:

  • Support the new business development activity for the agency, such as researching clients, preparing presentations and tender documents, and organising contracts with new clients.
  • Take responsibility for the onboarding of new clients.

Key skills required for this role:

  • Management of junior team members.
  • Exemplar of best practice in your role.
  • Confident presentation skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinker.
  • Negotiation and delegation skills.
  • Commercial nouse.
