Latest news: Triple award win for Clearly at PR industry gongs
On 20th June, the PRCA Dare Awards were held in Bristol and Bath-based Clearly came out tops with three major wins on the night.
For the second time in two years, Clearly was crowned the Medium PR Consultancy of the Year, whilst also scooping the Team Culture & Community Award. Paul MacKenzie-Cummins, Founder and Managing Director at Clearly, was recognised as PR Professional of the Year.
He said:
“These awards serve as both a reflection of the enormous efforts made by the team to bring the business back to growth following the pandemic downturn, and a recognition for the truly exceptional standard of work produced by the them and the results this generates for their clients.”
This continues a growing trend of recognition for Clearly at both a regional and national level over the last 12 months.
In addition to winning at the Bath Life and Creative Bath awards, Clearly has been ranked for two consecutive years as one of the Top 50 PR Agencies Outside London by PRWeek and a Top 50 B2B PR Agency across the whole of the UK.
“PR is not longer just about securing media clippings for clients,” Paul said.
“It needs to be focused on getting businesses and brands in front of the right people at the right time in a way that enables them to have measurable impact on their target market, influence on behaviours and customer purchasing decisions, and ultimately positively affect the income of the business itself.”
“That’s where our focus is with each project or campaign that we work on, which perhaps explains why 65% of current clients have doubled the length of their original contracts with us and 45% have increased their spend over the last 12 months. I guess we’re doing something right!”

In 2021, Clearly became only the seventh PR company in the UK to gain B Corp certification – a move that reinforced its existing environmental, social and governance (ESG) policy that has been in place since 2020.
A significant element to this is that Clearly gifts 2% of total pre-tax revenue to sustainability and social impact initiatives – a factor widely appreciated by many of the company’s client base. Paul said:
“Feedback from clients has been wonderful. They know that a percentage of their invoice each month goes directly to programs that support homelessness, child literacy, youth unemployment, and water poverty.
“So even if they don’t have an ESG or CSR policy within their own businesses, they can still play a major role in making a positive difference to the lives of others.”

Clearly has also been shortlisted for three Creative Bath Awards which will take place on 21st July:
- Agency of the Year
- Designer of the Year
- Founder of the Year
In the meantime, Paul MacKenzie-Cummins will be the guest speaker at the next Bath Life Business Club taking place on Monday 4th July at The Royal Crescent Hotel (click here) – talking crisis management, positive messaging and the strategic role in communications.
