Target 100: Clearly’s mission to help 100 B Corps in 2025
Clearly PR, often referred to as ‘The B Corp PR agency,’ has pledged to support 100 certified B Corp businesses and brands in 2025.
The agency which was one of the very first PR firms in the UK to become a B Corp when it gained certification in 2021, provided free PR consultations to more than 50 B Corps in 2024. It now aims to double that number in the next 12 months with 10 already completed in the first four weeks of the new year.
Clearly’s free 30-minute one-on-one PR consultation sessions have been taken up by a wide range of businesses and brands, from small to medium sized enterprises and fast-growing start-ups to large-scale national and international brands. They include:
- An international sustainable clothing brand.
- A law firm.
- A fitness equipment provider.
- A sustainable pan-European events management company.
- A very well-known global health and beauty brand.
- A vegan food manufacturer.
- A tech company operating within the circular economy.
- A sustainable brewery company.
- A market research consultancy.
- An organic drinks manufacturer.
B Corp: a movement not a moment
The B Corp movement is seeing incredible growth right now, with almost 3,000 certified businesses and brands in the UK alone. This is a six-fold increase since Clearly PR gained B Corp status in 2021. At this rate, the agency feels this number could potentially reach 10,000 within the next five years.
That’s the upside. The downside is that it is increasingly difficulty for organisations to get media attention for their great environmental and social impact initiatives. There are a number of reasons for this, but the most obvious is the sense of distrust among journalists and editors.
Media disinterest?
‘Greenwashing,’ the act of exaggerating one’s ethical and environmental credentials, remains a major concern. While the number of organisations exposed for greenwashing their marketing and PR is falling, albeit slowly, it has left a sour taste in the mouths of many in the media.
Indeed, ESG (environment, social and governance) was once a buzzword that drove investment, and media outlets couldn’t publish ESG-related stories fast enough. That’s all changed. In fact, the FT recently condemned ‘ESG’ as nothing more than a “multi-trillion dollar marketing scheme.” The greenwashing few have spoilt the party for the truly responsible many.
Services: ESG Communications
All of which poses a real challenge for B Corps and other ESG-led organisations who have great stories to tell but the media is no longer as open to hearing them as they once were.
Getting the ‘green’ and purpose media sceptics on side
Despite this backdrop, it is more than possible for businesses and brands to get coverage for their sustainability and social impact news. And Clearly PR has demonstrated this time and again. It is simply a matter of understanding ‘how’ to communicate their messages in the right way. That’s where Clearly PR’s consultations come into play.

Every business or brand who attends our one-on-one online PR consultations gains invaluable real-world ideas that they can turn into stories. However, that alone is not enough. Understanding ‘how’ to present and pitch these stories is critical to securing media coverage, and so we guide attendees on the most effective ways to do this.
Creating a ‘domino’ effect
If (when) we reach our target of 100 free PR consultations by December 2025, we will have supported over 150 B Corp businesses and brands in less than 18 months. That’s around 5% of all certified organisations in the UK.
The more businesses we help to get their great social and environmental stories ‘out there’, the greater the possibility that others will look at how they too can become a more responsible business.
This, we believe, will create a ‘domino’ effect that benefits all of us environmentally, socially, and economically. Want to be part of this drive for change? Clearly, you do!
